 Nature twists itself into a human embraze.  A symbolic move of warmth in a cold winter day.   

Based on a 1910 photograph by Alfred Stieglitz.    Stieglitz was a champion for photography as an art form.  He photographed New York City in many lights and forms during the years of the Industrial Revolution.   His black and white photographs are an amazing achievement of how the camera can become the mind and eyes of the artist.      

This painting is one of five in a series of famous cities at the turn of the 20th Century: New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Paris & London.   All of them photographs by different artist/photographers.
